DHL’s new Automated Warehouse Opening, Auckland, New Zealand
Share on
DHL Supply Chain’s new automated Auckland warehouse is officially open, marking a major step forward for Life Sciences and Healthcare logistics in New Zealand. As New Zealand’s automation leader, Automate-X was proud to deploy the Geek+ system to help deliver the nation’s most advanced robotic logistics capability for DHL’s new NZ$90 million facility, supporting higher expectations around speed, quality and reliability across the healthcare supply chain.
DHL’s investment includes 41 Geek+ Goods-to-Person robots, the largest deployment by any New Zealand 3PL provider, designed to lift productivity, accuracy and workplace safety. Our team worked closely with DHL to deploy the system and train their teams to handle calibration and maintenance, helping ensure the operation is set up for long term performance and continuous improvement.
This facility is purpose built for demanding healthcare requirements, featuring 12,000 temperature controlled pallet spaces and specialised environments with humidity control and cold chain capability from 2°C to –30°C. It supports pharmaceutical storage and repackaging under licence, strengthening DHL’s ability to serve the sector with tighter control, better traceability and greater resilience across critical product flows.
Together, Automate-X and Geek+ have helped DHL Supply Chain deliver smarter, safer and more efficient operations, while connecting New Zealand more strongly into DHL’s global Life Sciences and Healthcare network with enhanced reliability, speed and agility. We’re proud of what’s been achieved, and grateful to the DHL team and our partners at Geek+ for making this 2025 project possible.
